Dear Asita Members,

Bersama ini kami sampaikan informasi diskusi panel yang diselenggarakan oleh BPD PHRI Bali tentang Pneumonia Legionella pagi ini bahwa penyakit ini sudah terjangkit terhadap 12 tamu asal Australia, 1 Belanda, dan 1 Perancis, akan tetapi belum menimbulkan kematian karena tamu yang terkena penyakit tersebut sudah sembuh dan pulang ke negaranya.

Gejalanya seperti penyakit biasa yaitu panas, demam, batuk dan sesak napas yang berkepanjangan sehingga kelihatannya tidak terlalu berbahaya (padahal berbahaya) dan disarankan berhati-hati jika terkena penyakit ini (jangan dianggap sepele). Penyebabnya antara lain adalah karena AC kotor, saluran air dan cooling tower tidak terawat secara periodik sehingga memberikan tempat yang subur bagi bakteri ini berkembang biak. Bakteri ini akan tumbuh subur di suhu 10-20 derajat celsius, di atas suhu 60 derajat celsius bakteri ini mati. Selain faktor-faktor tadi bakteri ini juga akan tumbuh subur di tanah basah (intinya berhubungan dengan air).

Utk menghindari black campaign dan menghindari semakin bertambahnya pasien, Dinas Kesehatan dan PHRI akan melakukan pemeriksaan hotel-hotel dan memberikan certificate health inspection dengan biaya yang relatif tidak mahal dan bila dianggap perlu bersama dengan Dinas Pariwisata akan membuka crisis centre guna menangkal komentar dan pertanyaan negatif dari pihak-pihak luar. Namun saat ini penyakit ini belumlah dianggap sebagai wabah yang ditakuti karena dari pihak Direktur RSUP Sanglah sudah menyatakan siap menyembuhkan, obatnya ada dan tidak mahal. Jika dalam tahap awal bila pasien di bawa ke RSUP (bukan yg parah sekali), pak Direktur menyatakan pasien bisa disembuhkan seperti tamu-tamu yang terjangkit kemarin ini (mulai Agustus tahun lalu).

Di RSUP Sanglah telah dibentuk tim khusus penangan penyakit ini yang terdiri atas 14 dokter ahli penyakit dalam dengan ketuanya dokter ahli paru-paru. Kadisparda Prop. Bali Bapak Subikshu menyatakan bahwa selama ini belum ada pertanyaan secara resmi dialamatkan ke Disparda baik melalui fax,email dan sms dari Kedutaan asing, Konjen dan ataupun Konsul-konsulnya di Bali. Hanya ada 1 airlines asing menanyakan tentang penyakit ini kepada Kadisparda dan sudah dijawab aman terkendali.
